First I found this article a Reference on Deeplinking into Slack the first sections deal with deep linking for the web browser, and I was able to get it working to access channels, but user conversations seemed to be out of reach. Add new Trello cards to boards directly from Slack without needing to hop through the app switching hoop. So I began investigating how to accomplish my use case. Specifically today we'll be tinkering with the desktop client, although Slack also offers a separate web api which you can use with the browser.
